Carlmont High School

Carlmont High School is a large, comprehensive public high school in Belmont, California, serving about 2,360 students in grades 9–12 as part of the Sequoia Union High School District and is recognized as a California Distinguished School. It was established in 1952 and sits on a suburban campus that straddles Belmont and neighboring San Carlos, which is reflected in its name; its sports teams are known as the Scots, and the mascot is Monty, a Scottish highland warrior. Carlmont is noted for strong academic performance with high proficiency in state testing and a graduation rate near 98%, along with a variety of speciality programs such as the Biotechnology Institute (BTI) and a wide range of courses in arts, sciences, and technology.
